Have You Seen Lidia? Lidia the Tatooed Biker

OK, I am the 1st to admit, I am old. and while I like to listen to all sorts of music, I tend to have older stuff on my mp3 player. It's not that I don't like anything new, it's just that I am a creature of habit & well, as you know (if you know me), I really like to sing along with things I listen to. You can't do that for songs you don't know! huh...this may actually be why people play songs I don't know...I think I am on to something!

ANYWAY...I was out with a friend last night and we decided to play some tunes on the juke box. This friend is about a decade younger than me (I had to explain what a Wurlitzer was to her...young pup...) and such a sweetie. I felt bad as I was making my selections, "she's not going to know or like half of these songs...they were made before she was born..." But, we were in a pub ~ you have to play a certain type of song in a pub!

We made "our" (my) selections and almost immediately, some biker guy came over to select some music. This guy was wearing a black leather vest and t-shirt to show off the copious amount of tatoos up & down his arms, and had a shaved head~ complete with a tatoo on his skull.

Since we were next to the juke, I was being typical me & making snarky comments to him. "Don't be trumping my songs!" (with these new fangled jukes, you can pay more to have your song play next). We were then mocking his selections. "You don't scare me with your tatooed head. I could still kick your ass."

He laughed and snarked back. I can't say his selections were any better. Come on. What man over the age of 30 would select Pussy Cat Dolls, Katy Perry, and Britney Spears? Clearly he was a poofter.

We hung out until our songs played and then once Lidia the Tatooed Biker's songs started, we motored ~ 'cause I am old and it was 11pm, after all! Plus, I had 44 oz of beer and wanted more. Figured it was better to leave!

And for your Muppet viewing pleasure: Kermie singing "Lidia the Tatooed Lady":

  1. I can't be too youthful. I had to explain what ZZ Top was singing about to you. :)

I had fun that night and I look forward to doing it again!
